Sunday, 11-18-12

It sits there
steaming as though it's a volcano
mist floating out of it
sometimes a string hangs out of it
like that of a climbers rappel rope
trialing down the face of the mountain
it sits there
warm and comforting
the right size for the maker's hands
waiting for him
to reach out from under his
quilted cocoon

We spent a lot of our time during the break reading. Over the course of a week I managed to read Second Nature by Michael Pollan, 60 pages of Endurance (all about Earnest Shackleton, and our history reading assignment), Ishmael by Daniel Quin, and a bit of Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey.
