9-12-2012 crazy opportunities

Hey there! Just a quick post. I've been really busy! In history out class yesterday we worked on a real dugout canoe and the paddles that would go with the canoe. The boat will probably not be done by the time CS5 leaves, but it's still really exciting! Sadly in the process I managed to cut off a tiny piece of my index finger not with the planer.. Oh no.. but with the wood chip that resulted after I cut the oar with the planar. Aaron says that so long as it doesn't hurt the next day that I'm in good shape. This of course was followed by a conversation about the lovely injuries we have gotten with machinery tools.

Yesterday was also a day of swimming with Dexter, Maeve, Mattie, Alex T. and Kaia. It was freezing, but it was still really refreshing, and you ended up going numb after about 5 min. After swimming I hung out with the other groups who were gathering their group gear. I must have helped pitch 5 tents! I'm glad my group already got the majority of the gear checked out. I'm also glad that my group isn't nearly as large as some of the other groups. It has been decided that were will walk between 6 to 8 miles every day! The trip is just around the corner! I'm really excited. My English project is also just around the corner! I need to hurry up and tap into my artistic side!

Today my careers and colleges class focused on specific careers, and I got really interested in forensic Science technology. This wouldn't have originally attracted me, but not I'm intriguing! So much for knowing what I like.

Later today is Stewardship in Action. I should be working with more wood tools! Fingers crossed nothing else get injured! Later today I am also going with Mattie to make a survival bracelet out of paracord. I have gotten one of these bracelets as a gift, but I can't wait to learn how to make one :D There are so many new things to do here, and it's always hard to decide. :P

I am finally appreciating why I like homeschooling! There aren't a ridiculous amount of tests to take every week! Michael's history quizzes are going to be the death of me! Lewis makes so many speeches and they all seem to run together after a while! :O

Later!~ PEACE!

  1. Hoping to hear further good news about that finger. How MUCH of it did you cut off??? No stitches, I'm guessing.

Well, off to the dog park. Coco is calling....
