Day 3: 9-18-2012 and that's how it's done!

Day three was the most strenuous day of our entire trip! We walked a total of 10.5 miles! So of the hills were tough. It wasn't that they were really steep, but the fact that they continued on and on and on. So it was a slower more gradual hill that required more endurance than strength. I definitely have stronger legs because of this trip! We made it to Mirror Lake! Yay us!The view on the lake was gorgeous! When there was no wind and the colorful trees were reflecting into the water it was an absolutely stunning view. Especially since the grey sky contrasted so nicely with the bright colors. There was a fork in the trail when we got to the lake. One direction was 0.5 miles to one set of campsite, and another 0.5 miles a different direction for another set. We split in half in search of the best location. When we all came back together and reported that all the campsites were empty we decided to take he left fork. When we got there low and behold there was the other Porkies group led by Andy and Kathleen! We actually only ended up talking to Alex DeMetts and George. They were disappointed that their group hadn't moved as far as they had originally thought. After speaking with them I was glad that my group was so energetic! :) You have to give Meghan and Jackie credit. This was their first ever camping experience! Thanks guys :) That night was filled with late night chats between the tents and some hilarious games of Mafia. It's becoming quite a popular game, and everyone's strategies change frequently.

FIREBENDERS RULE!!
