9-3-2012 balance on the bosu

Hey guys! I'm slowly sinking into the rhythm here. I also think that I'm losing weight despite the enormous amount of food that I eat today. I want to try wearing a pedometer one day to figure out how far I walk everyday. It seems like I run everywhere. This brings me to balance. It's imperative to figure out how to balance living here. There is so much to do, both academically and fun-wise. My lovely suite mate made a great speech at the community on balancing our lives here. It's taken some getting used to, but I think I am finally adjusting, but the one thing is that still a little unbalanced is the getting to class on time. The entire class was late to Field Instruction! :O ahh well... now we know!

In field instruction we did backpacking. We sized the packs to our spine length. I was pleasantly surprised that my torso wasn't the shortest! Yay me! Mine was actually longer than Ana's or Brooke's! 17. inches if you guys cared to know! :P We spent the entire 1.75 hour class period hiking around with these packs filled with out heaviest possessions (textbooks!). I was happy to feel that the backpacking weight is actually on our hips, so it's really not nearly as bad as I thought it was. Plus my hiking boots were nicely broken in, so I felt really good. So pumped for exploration week! :D

This past weekend in addition to homework and photography, I helped Kaia with her bike. Russ, Kai, Colin,  and Shawn all hung out at the LRC and cleaned up a vintage nike that Kaia bought in LOLville for $20! It's about 30 years old I think she said, but everything is in great condition and just needs cleaning. It helps that it has only ever had one previous owner!

Lots of reading that I need to do! Check out cs5kaiajournal.blogspot.com to see my most recent project! Byeeee

  1. Tried to check out the bike on Kaia's blog, but the address you listed above doesn't work. :-(
