9-11-2012 circle of friends

Last night was filled with mini pow pow sessions in Maeve's room debating the crazy things in life. I love the group of people that surrounds me. They know me at a level I never thought possible. They notice my little innuendos that I seem to miss about myself. This has helped me become more aware of who I am as a person. And for that I can thanks all my new friends. :)

I feel like today I going to be a very reflective day since it's 9/11. A lot of people at the community meeting talked about how their families were close to the attack. Ella and Kaia's stories were the most saddening. This day really makes me glad that I'm here, and makes me recognize how lucky I am to be living and to have not lost any loved ones.

Soppy.. I know right? While I've been here I've also become really appreciative of nature. My love of nature has grown exponentially, and I don't think I'll be able to go back to a city and be happy. I have life-long ties to the earth now. I was talking with some people last night, and it seems as though they all live on tons of land. Mattie and Aaron live on about 100 acres and Russ and Kai also live on huge pieces of property. I am so jealous! All the stuff I could do on that land! Time for a road trip after this! Mattie and I decided that we are going to make Aaron drive us up to visit Maeve and Dexter. From there we will go and visit all the Wisconsin people! :D Sounds like a plan!

Chinese! Gotta fly! Exploration week is coming up this weekend! We leave Sunday! I'm so pumped and can't wait. I'm now prepared with my three new sweat wicking shirts (Thanks Mama and Mother!)!

  1. Oh, Mei-Jing. I had already thought of that -- wondering how you are going to feel being confined in the city now that you've tasted the Great Outdoors. We'll have to think of some good ways to cope...

I'm glad you've found such good friends at Conserve. This is also how it could be a couple of years from now, if you are careful to pick a college that fits!

  2. Well, there is always Janet's farm... Plus, my sister and I are thinking about going to Okeefenokee (sp) State Park for Christmas. O-o-o-o, alligators.
